Aeroflot and Vietnam Airlines begin codeshare agreement

Aeroflot and Vietnam Airlines has begun a code sharing agreement on both domestic and international routes in Vietnam and Russia.

The partnership is aiming to offer customers enhanced connectivity and seamless connections between several domestic destinations in Russia and Vietnam, as well as promoting stronger commercial ties between the two countries, a statement said.

Flights operated by Aeroflot include the route of Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow - Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City.

Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - St Petersburg, Ufa and Krasnodar.

Aeroflot operates nine flights per week on routes between Moscow and Vietnam with a daily flight to Hanoi and a twice-weekly service to Ho Chi Minh City.

Flights operated by Vietnam Airlines include the route of Hanoi - Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang.

As well as Ho Chi Minh city- Phu Quoc, Nha Trang.

Vietnam Airlines offers three direct Moscow – Hanoi flights per week, operated on state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The code share agreement comes after the signing of a Memorandum between the two flag carriers in 2018.

Twenty-five years since its first flight, the Vietnamese carrier has transported more than 1.6 million passengers between Vietnam and Russia. In 2018, Russia was ranked as the sixth largest source of international visitors to Vietnam with the number of arrivals predicted to increase to 1 million by 2020.
