Qantas suspends Delhi service for five-month period

Qantas is suspending its service between Melbourne and Delhi for five months, with the airline citing “current fleet and operational requirements”.

The service between the two cities will be temporarily suspended from June to October, the off-peak season for this route.  Flights between Melbourne and the Indian capital are operated by the airline’s fleet of A330-200 aircraft.

“India is an important and growing market for Qantas and our Bengaluru services, as well as codeshare flights via Singapore, remain on sale,” a Qantas spokesperson told Airline Economics.

This comes after Air India's recent announcement earlier this month, confirming the suspension of its Mumbai to Melbourne service from March 30 to September 13, 2025.

The Qantas spokesperson emphasised that the airline is “looking forward” to resuming its Melbourne to Delhi services in October, with the first flight after the suspension planned for October 27, 2025.
