Qantas resumes non-stop thrice weekly Melbourne-Jakarta service

Qantas resumed its non-stop Melbourne-Jakarta service with thrice weekly flights. This is the fourth international route to be added to the Qantas roster out of Melbourne Airport since border restrictions were removed last year.

This service will complement the existing daily services from Sydney International Airport to Jakarta offering passengers a choice of ten flights per week and almost 300,000 seats annually between Australia and Jakarta, more than any other airline.

The Qantas Group operates more than 100 flights per week between Australia and Indonesia, including Qantas and Jetstar flights to the in-demand destination island of Bali.

Qantas expects the Melbourne to Jakarta route will be popular with travelers connecting to and from other major Indonesian cities such as Surabaya and Medan.

Andrew David, CEO, Domestic and International, Qantas said: “We continue to see really strong demand for travel to and from Melbourne, so we're pleased to be expanding our international network with another new route out of Victoria. Jakarta is becoming an increasingly important destination for our corporate travellers. These direct flights offer more choice and make it even easier for them to do business with one of Australia's closest neighbours.
