Dion Weisler has been appointed as an independent non-executive director at the Qantas Group, with the company stating that this appointment is in line with its commitment to renew its current board.
Joining the board from March 31, 2025, Weisler has most recently served as president and CEO of HP and currently serves as a non-executive director at BHP, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Intel Corporation.
“One of the key actions we committed to following a review of key governance matters last year was continuing to expand the board’s skillset to add to the depth and breadth of experience required,” said John Mullen, Qantas Group chairman.
Shareholders will vote on Weisler’s position on the board at the Qantas Group's 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 7, 2025.
Additionally, Todd Sampson will retire from his position on the company’s board on July 30, 2025, after more than a decade in his role.
These changes will mean five of the seven non-executive members of the company's board moving forward will have joined since May 2023.
