American Airlines’ chief legal officer, Priya Aiyar, is to leave the company for a similar role outside of the airline industry.
In a memo to company employees on January 10, 2025, Robert Isom, American’s chief executive officer, said that the airline is currently searching for Aiyar’s replacement.
Joining the airline over five years ago, Aiyar previously held roles as deputy general counsel for the US Department of the Treasury, and as deputy general counsel for the US Department of Energy.
Bruce Wark will stand in as the company’s interim chief legal officer. Wark has been with the airline since 1993 and has most recently served as American’s senior vice president and deputy general counsel.
