Porter Airlines is responding to what it calls ‘strong demand’ in its Ottawa network by increasing capacity on eight key routes for spring and summer 2024.

Less than a year after their respective launches, flights to Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary (operated on the Embraer E195-E2) will increase to a twice-daily service. Daily roundtrips (flown on the Dash 8-400) between Ottawa and Fredricton, Moncton and Boston will also be doubled. Serivces to New York will increase from two daily roundtrip flights to three.

Additionally, the Ottawa to Halifax route will see an increase in seat capacity when the route swaps from the 78 seat Dash 8-400 to the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 in April 2024.

“Porter’s extraordinary growth and sustained success underscore the opportunity for [Ottawa International Airport] to establish itself as a priority airport within their expanding network,” said Mark Laroche, president and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority. “The implementation of double daily service is crucial for enhancing connectivity, and [the airport] is well-positioned to reap significant advantages in this regard”.
