In an interview with the Nikkei Asian Review, Shinya Katanozaka, president of ANA Holdings has commented that the integration of Peach Aviation and Vanilla Air aims to become the leading low-cost carrier in Asia. The full integration of the two airlines is scheduled for completion by March 2020.
"We're accelerating talks on how the new company will be organized, as well as its benefits, [labour] policies and work conditions," Katanozaka said.
ANA intends the combined airline to fly to 50 destinations in and outside of Japan with a fleet of more than 50 aircraft in 2020 or later. The new company plans to launch longer-haul routes with a flight time of nine hours or longer by 2020.
