Snow causes UK travel disruption with flights cancelled

Snow disruption in the UK caused the cancellation of over 150 departing flights on January 5, 2025, according to data from Cirium.

The 152 flights cancelled accounted for 6% of all scheduled UK departures for the day, a further 136 arriving flights were also cancelled.

The data and analytics firm noted that Manchester Airport was the worst affected, with 33 departing flights and 27 arrivals cancelled. London Heathrow, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick and Liverpool also saw cancellations.

Cirium data also has shown that on January 6, four flights have been cancelled, with figures likely to rise as disruption is still affecting a large area of the UK.
