Otto Aerospace secures landmark 300 aircraft order from Flexjet

Otto Aerospace, a US-based maker of luxury aircraft, has named Flexjet as the launch customer of its Phantom 3500 business jet.

Under the terms of the agreement, Flexjet has placed a firm order for 300 Phantom 3500 aircraft with additional options.

Otto Aerospace said the first flight of the Phantom 3500 is expected in 2027, and deliveries are expected to begin in 2030.

Beyond the 300 aircraft order, the agreement also grants Flexjet’s in-house maintenance organisation the ability to become an Otto-authorised service centre.

Otto Aerospace described the Phantom 3500 as a clean-sheet, ultra-efficient aircraft.

The Texas-based manufacturer said it leverages “breakthrough” laminar-flow aerodynamics and precision all-carbon-fiber composites, in order to cut fuel burn by over 60%.

Flexjet is a global fleet operator in private aviation, offering fractional ownership and leasing supported by an integrated maintenance and product support ecosystem.

Flexjet Technical Services, its maintenance and product support arm, has operations in the US, Canada and Europe.
