Olympic Air has been taken over by Aegean Airlines in a €72 million deal following the conclusion by the European Commission that this was the only way to save the carrier.
The merged airline, which is expected to save the company up to €35 million annually, will service more than 250 routes of which 205 will be to and from destinations overseas.
