Reuters has reported that a new airline Odyssey of Europe is an undisclosed customer for Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft. Bombardier announced two separate orders, both for 10 CS100s, from unidentified customers at the Paris air show in June.
The new airline is reported to be intending to operate the aircraft, in an all-business class configuration, on new routes from London City Airport to New York. London City airport can only accommodate moderately-sized aircraft so the CS100 is an ideal aircraft to use on long-haul routes to the US because it can fly non-stop from London City to New York. Such a service would pose a significant problem for the current all-business class British Airways A318 service from London City as it has to make a refueling stop.
