MYAirline signs Honeywell for APU overhaul on its A320 fleet

MYAirline has signed Honeywell to support the maintenance of its auxiliary power units (APUs) installed on its Airbus A320 fleet. As a part of the deal, Honeywell will also provide annual maintenance cost plans and predictive trend monitoring programmes.

Honeywell is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the 131-9A APU which it claims is regarded as the best in its class, with high performance, reliability, and lower maintenance costs that result in significant fuel savings.

Rayner Teo, CEO, MYAirline said: “Reliability, safety and efficiency are our top priorities. This is especially important when we start flying to regional destinations and encounter a variety of situations while on the ground. Reducing our carbon footprint is another reason why we went with Honeywell as we add more aircraft to our fleet, even more savings can be realised. It is also synonymous with the measures that we’ve already taken on other parts of our aircraft and processes.”

APU is a critical component that reduces fuel consumption by avoiding the need to start the aircraft's main engines while waiting for passengers to arrive.
