Munich Airport has announced that Qatar Airways is to double its cargo capacity from the Bavarian hub to Doha.
The carrier is to increase from two to four flights a week, including one via Chicago Rockford. The flights are to be operated on behalf of logistics company DB Schenker, according to a Munich Airport statement.
"We welcome the expansion of our long-standing customer Qatar Airways. It once again demonstrates the growing importance of Munich as a cargo hub," said Markus Heinelt, the airport's director of traffic development cargo.
