Milan Bergamo Airport handled 15.9 million passengers in 2023, an increase of 24.4% year on year. This represents a 15.3% increase from 2019, showing a sharp improvement for pre-and-post-pandemic. It also marks the first time the airport has seen over 15 million passengers.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the strong collaboration with our airline partners,” said Milan Bergamo Airport director of commercial aviation Giacomo Cattaneo.

The airport expanded its route network throughout 2023 with flight operations increasing by 14.5% year-on-year, achieving over 100,000 aircraft movements in the year – a first for the airport. It welcomed Cabo Verde Airlines, Flydubai, Georgian Airways, and Norwegian to its list of carriers in the year. Established partners Aeroitalia, Air Arabia, Ryanair, Volotea, and Wizz Air also increased their frequencies of existing routes and added new destinations.

Starting from January 16, Norwegian will inaugurate two weekly flights to Tromso from Milan Bergamo, while four weekly services to Copenhagen will be introduced from March 31. On May 18, the airline will commence two weekly operations to Stavanger on May 18. It will also operate three weekly services to Helsinki on June 2.
