Metrojet shuffles top management positions

Justin Yeung is promoted to the Director of Aircraft Management and Charter (DAMC) at Metrojet. He will be responsible for client relations, continuing airworthiness and management organisation (CAMO), business development, and joint venture projects within the Aircraft Management and Charter line of business. Prior to the promotion, Yeung was the Head of Commercials at Metrojet. He played a key role in successful negotiations with the Clark International Airport Corporation for a long-term land lease for the new Metrojet Engineering (Clark) facility in the Philippines, and the acquisition of Chinese Air Operating Certificate (AOC) operator, Funian Aviation, through Metrojet’s joint venture with the Haite Group.

In another major management reshuffle, Metrojet has promoted Captain Stewart Borg as the new Director, of Flight Operations (DFO) effective 1 October 2022. He will oversee all aspects of the AMC’s Flight Operations Department, including flight crew management, Integrated Operations Centre, flight training, and flight operation support. He has been with Metrojet for over 17 years, having previously served as Lead Captain, Deputy Chief Pilot and Manager, Flight Training

Yeung said: “Our Client Relations and CAMO teams have consistently delivered great value to our clients even through this extremely challenging period for the industry. In my new role, I hope to support them to further develop our core business of providing class-leading aircraft management services to our clients.”

Thrilled at the new opportunity, Captain Stewart Borg, Metrojet’s Director, Flight Operations said: “It is my pleasure to continue providing Metrojet clients with safe and quality operations. I believe my extensive experience in operating large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft for over 22 years will add value to the Metrojet fleet and bring practical insights to the aircraft operations and management services.”

Yeung and Borg will report directly to Captain Denzil White, Metrojet’s Managing Director of Aircraft Management and Charter who commented, “Justin’s ability to handle complex business transactions coupled with his extensive experience in commercial and legal matters will prove valuable in promoting the growth of Metrojet in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Southeast Asia. Stewart’s dedication, passion, focus on safety and extensive operational experience in business aviation will enhance the productivity, efficiency, and reliability of Metrojet Flight Operations.”
