Metro Aviation and Airbus Helicopters have signed an agreement for up to 36 H140 helicopters in the emergency medical services sector.
This order from the Louisiana-based air medical services operator consists of 12 firm H140 helicopter orders, with options for an additional 24.
With this order, Metro Aviation is one of the launch customers for the new H140 helicopter that was unveiled at the VERTICON industry show in Dallas, Texas on March 11, 2025.
“We have partnered with Airbus for over 40 years, and it is good to have the opportunity to provide input into the design of this aircraft that is designed for the air medical mission,” said Todd Stanberry, vice president of Metro Aviation.
Stanberry noted that the company is already in the process of designing a “state-of-the-art air-medical interior” for the new helicopter fleet.
Entry into service for the helicopter is planned in 2028, within the emergency medical services segment.
