Middle East Airlines (MEA) has announced that it will join the SkyTeam alliance next year. The airline alliance said the new member would allow it to ‘compete more efficiently’ and help move into the Western Africa market.
“The Middle East is a strategic market for our alliance as we continue to extend the SkyTeam network to all corners of the globe,” said Leo van Wijk, chairman of SkyTeam. “The region has seen an impressive growth in traffic over the past decade and we want to engage actively in this expansion.”
