Colombian airline Avianca has partnered with Lufthansa Technik to adopt its digital tech ops ecosystem, becoming its first customer in the Americas. Avianca and Lufthansa Technik subsidiary flydocs signed a new agreement aiming at digitising records and asset management of Avianca's fleet of over 140 aircraft through the flydocs software.
“We now have a complete digital environment that provides a solution to the needs of an airline the size of Avianca, while allowing us to continue generating efficiencies, reducing our cost structure and optimising both aircraft availability and value,” said Avianca vice president of engineering and maintenance Francisco Lalinde.
Lufthansa Technik senior director sales for Latin America Robin Johansson commented: “The digital tech ops ecosystem is unique in the aviation industry because it provides end-to-end coverage of technical operations, integrating maintenance software, real-time analytics, and digital records management all under one framework.”
The partnership spans five years.
