Malta approves easyJet's acquisition of SR Technics

Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) has approved easyJet's acquisition of SR Technics Malta on May 13, 2024, after it was notified on April 18, 2024. SR Technics Malta Limited is a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider that is primarily active in the provision of heavy maintenance services of commercial passenger aircraft from its premises in Malta, within Malta International Airport. Its MRO service portfolio is mostly focused on the maintenance of the A320 family aircraft. The acquisition will complement easyJet's fleet of 336 A320 family aircraft. The MCCAA said: ""There is no horizontal overlap between easyJet and SR Technics, as they operate at different levels of the supply chain. This, combined with SR Technics' limited market share and the widespread availability of alternative MRO service providers within the [European economic area], indicates that the concentration does not pose any potential horizontal or vertical effects.""
