Lufthansa Technik and Wizz Air have extended the scope of their already close cooperation to Romania and the Czech Republic.
According to a new five-year-contract, Lufthansa Technik Maintenance International (LTMI) provides Wizz Air with line maintenance services up to and including A-checks for eight Airbus A320s based in Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj. A further two A320s based in Prague are to be included in the agreement by February.
In line with the new agreement, LTMI will appoint a Fleet Manager as the focal contact for Wizz Air in all kinds of technical, commercial and regulatory matters. This continuous exchange will ensure an ideal integration of LTMI's services into Wizz Air's operations.
"We are pleased to expand our long standing cooperation with Lufthansa Technik to more and more countries," said József Váradi, chief cxecutive cfficer of Wizz Air. "The support through a dedicated Fleet Manager of LTMI ensures us shortest response times in case of any problems and hence minimizes the risk of a technical delay."
"The close integration into Wizz Air's operations through our Fleet Manager highlights the strong ties and the high level of trust Wizz Air has expressed in Lufthansa Technik's expertise and services", said Alexander Heilmann, chief executive officer of Lufthansa Technik Maintenance International. "We will be proud to justify Wizz Air's trust with outstanding reliability and dependable services.
