Latest results show that Lufthansa Group airlines carried more than 67 million passengers in first nine months of 2010.
From January through September, 44.1 million passengers flew with Lufthansa, an increase of 5.2% on the same period in 2009. Capacity during the term was up by 1.9%. Revenue passenger-kilometres rose by 4.7%. The seat load factor climbed year-on-year by 2.2 percentage points to 79.9%. While the passenger count grew in all traffic regions, the strongest growth was recorded in the Middle East / Africa region.
Transport volumes at Lufthansa Cargo also improved during the same period. The cargo airline transported around 1.3 million tonnes of freight and mail, an increase of 19.4% on the year-earlier level. The freight load factor rose by 9.8 percentage points to 71.1%.
