Lufthansa Aviation Training Group opens a new training centre near Brussels Airport

The Lufthansa Aviation Training Group (LAT) has opened a new training centre, located near Brussels Airport (BRU).

The centre - which will be available for both Brussels Airlines and external LAT customers - will aim to enhance training opportunities.  Facilities include an A320 cabin mockup, several door trainers for the A320 and A330 aircraft, as well as for the 737 and 787.

"We are very pleased to officially open the latest LAT training centre in Brussels today. It will contribute significantly to enhancing training opportunities for our flying colleagues at Brussels Airlines. This is not only an important step in the further expansion of LAT but also underscores our expertise in providing high-quality training solutions for Lufthansa Group airlines and the external customer market," said Matthias Spohr, CEO, Lufthansa Aviation Training.

Crews from Brussels Airlines will particularly benefit from this new training centre opening, as it will allow them to avoid long travel distances to other training locations.

Commenting on the opening was Tilman Reinshagen, COO of Brussels Airlines who said: "At Brussels Airlines, our ambitions are clear and bold: we strive to be the carrier of choice for our customers and a leading employer in Belgium. The modernized training centre supports these goals. Located near Brussels Airport, it offers our staff superior training facilities, enhancing both their working conditions and professional development.

He continued:" This investment will further motivate and engage our colleagues - empowering them to deliver the excellent experience for our passengers that we stand for."
