German Airways has appointed Luc van den Avyle as the new director of fleet.
Luc van den Avyle is an experienced manager, studied aircraft engineer and trained helicopter pilot, who worked for Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer for more than 20 years. He was most recently Director of Business Development at component manufacturer Electric Power Systems, with responsibility for sales in the EMEA and Asia regions. During his time as a helicopter pilot, the Belgian worked for the Belgian Air Force, American Helicopters and Bristow Academy. He also worked as an aircraft engineer for Delta Air Transport.
At German Airways, Luc’s responsibilities will include management and contract controlling of technical suppliers, fleet development and lessor management, strategic development of the airline's own technical operations and technical asset management.
