LOT gains IATA IEnvA certification

LOT Polish Airlines has been awarded IATA’s Environmental Assessment (IEnvA) certification, underscoring the airline’s commitment to sustainability and environmental management.

The certification aims to help airlines, airports and MRO providers to improve their Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and environmental performance.

The Polish flag-carrier underwent an external audit in March, which assessed the airline’s environmental practices across both flight operations and office-based activities. Following the audit LOT received its certification on June 4, 2025, at IATA’s Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit in New Delhi.

“At a time of growing social and regulatory expectations regarding climate responsibility, meeting international environmental standards is not only a reflection of awareness, but also contributes to building customer loyalty and enhancing reputation in the global market,” said Mateusz Dziudziel, director of the fuel office at LOT Polish Airlines.

The airline noted that by achieving this certification, it will support improvements in environmental efficiency, while strengthens its competitive position.
