Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport (LPL) reported a 15% increase in passenger numbers - serving 4.3 million passengers – in the financial year ending March 31, 2024.
This increase has allowed for the airport to see an increase in revenue, up by 14% to £44.4million ($59.3million) during the same period.
“We have continued to make significant improvements at Liverpool John Lennon Airport as we look to return to pre-covid passenger numbers,” said John Irving, chief executive, Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
He continued: “We are actively exploring how we can better accommodate increasing passenger footfall while maintaining our high standards for customer service. We are also investing heavily in projects which will enable us to enhance the airport, maintain our compliance with the latest regulations and support our carbon reduction initiatives.”
In the past year, Jet2 has began operating flights from Liverpool Airport, taking the number of based aircraft at Liverpool Airport to its highest ever.
