LATAM Group carries 41 million passengers in first seven months of 2023

LATAM Group carried a total of 41 million passengers in the first seven months of 2023, from January to July 2023, up by 20% as compared to the same time last year. In July alone, the group carried 6.8 million passengers, 19.2% more than in 2022 and 2% more than in 2019.

In July, the load factor of LATAM Group aircraft increased 4.4 percentage points compared to the same month last year, reaching 86.8%, the highest level reached by the group since 2019. The occupancy level of international flights operated by the group's subsidiaries reached 88.8%, while the load factor on the domestic flights of the Brazilian subsidiary was 84.9% and on the subsidiaries of Spanish-speaking countries. Hispanic (Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Peru) was 84.8%.

An important milestone in the month of August was the launch of the Guarulhos - Los Angeles route by LATAM Airlines Brazil, the first route in the Brazilian market in the context of the JV between LATAM and Delta. With an average duration of 12 hours, the direct flight between Sao Paulo and Los Angeles will have the capacity to transport an average of 110,000 passengers per year directly between the two destinations.

LATAM cargo increased its frequency to connect North America with Central and South America. Starting August 2023, the weekly flights of cargo subsidiaries from Miami to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) will increase to 4. In addition, new flights were added from Miami to Guayaquil (Ecuador) and Lima (Peru), leaving with three regular frequencies.

By August, the LATAM group will continue flying to 143 destinations in 23 countries and plans to have a total of 1,441 daily flights, 1,230 domestic and 220 international flights. At the affiliate level, Brazil leads with 747 flights per day, followed by Peru with 272 flights, Chile and Colombia with 225 flights each per day, and then Ecuador with 56 flights.

In July 2023, passenger traffic (measured in rented passenger-kilometres - RPK) increased by 19.6% compared to the same period in 2022, and operations measured in ASKs (available seat-kilometres) increased by 13.5 %. In cargo, capacity (measured in available ton-kilometres - ATK) increased by 8.8% compared to June 2022.
