Kingfisher Airlines CEO Sanjay Aggarwal has commented that the airline remains a viable business and there is no dispute over its survival. However the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation has sent a request to the finance ministry for granting bailout for airline.
Shares of Kingfisher Airlines dropped more than 19% since it announced it had cancelled flights this week.
Aggarwal told local media that the airline’s parent company UB group “has continued to support us all along over the course of the year, so there is no question about the future or the viability of the airline". He also commented that 100 pilots have left the airline over the last several months.
Meanwhile, there have been further reports of lessors being poised to reclaim aircraft loaned to the airline because of defaults on payments.
