Kenya hoteliers request more flights

Hoteliers and other tourism stakeholders have requested more international scheduled flights to the Coast region of Kenya. The area has suffered since the UK, US and France put in place travel advisories against part of the coastal region. The area is recovering and is receiving renewed traffic from cruise ships and charter flights but the Moi International Airport only receives three international carriers that operate scheduled flights - Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Rwanda Air. Kenya Airways, the national carrier, is the dominant operator of scheduled flights to the Coast.

Chairperson of the Kenya Coast Tourists Association, Mohamed Hersi, has urged Air Arabia, Fly Emirates and Oman Air to resume flights to the region they halted in 2014.
