Juneyao Airlines, a Shanghai-based low-cost carrier, has signed an agreement with Airbus to purchase 25 A320 family aircraft, with deliveries scheduled between 2028 and 2032.
The aircraft carry a combined list price of approximately $4.1bn, based on Airbus’s latest catalogue pricing. Juneyao said the final transaction price will be determined following further negotiations.
The deal was approved by Juneyao’s board of directors on December 29 and remains subject to shareholder and government approval, according to a stock market filing.
Juneyao said the aircraft purchase is intended to support its future operational requirements and ensure long-term capacity growth. Funding for the order will come from a combination of internal resources and bank financing.
The airline also cautioned that delivery timelines could be affected by factors such as force majeure.
