Executive search and leadership advisory firm, Spencer Stuart, has appointed John Davidson as a consultant in its Chicago office. A specialist in executive recruiting for industrial companies, Davidson has worked extensively across the transportation and logistics sector, with particular prominence in aviation, automotive as well as within private equity.
“We are very excited to have John come aboard as a member of the Global Industrial Practice,” said Jordan Brugg, North American Industrial Practice leader at Spencer Stuart. “His extensive knowledge of the global markets and well-established relationships with industry-leading talent will immediately make a difference for our clients.”
Spencer Stuart’s Global Industrial Practice conducts nearly 1,400 searches annually, supporting businesses ranging from the world’s largest industrial conglomerates to smaller founder-led and investor-backed enterprises. “While we already command a leading market share of CEO search, board search and succession planning work, John will help us bring greater focus and market depth in key areas like commercial, general and business aviation, aircraft leasing, mobility services, travel technology and cargo sectors,” Brugg said.
Davidson joins Spencer Stuart from another international search firm, where he was a partner within the Global Industrial Practice. His client work is focused on senior executive assignments at the corporate and divisional levels, as well as operational and commercial leadership roles — primarily in the airline, general and business aviation, cargo, MRO, aircraft leasing, mobility services and travel technology sectors. Prior to that work, John served as managing director at a boutique search firm, where he led the Transportation Practice. He began his executive search career in 1998 and went on to found Lake Forest Executive Search, a well-regarded boutique search firm located in Chicago’s northern suburbs.
