Jetstar has announced a new direct flight from Auckland to Brisbane. The new service will operate four times a week by an Airbus A320 aircraft. The services are expected to resume on March 27, 2023 subject to regulatory approvals.
Excited to launch the new route that expanded Jetstar’s Trans-Tasman network, Stephanie Tully, CEO, of Jetstar Group, said: “This is the first time we have offered direct flights between Brisbane and Auckland, and we are confident this new return service will be extremely popular with our customers. Our amazing low fares mean New Zealanders will be able to spend more on enjoying those incredible activities and we thank the Queensland Government for their support of the new route.”
This route comes as a welcome move for tourists as Brisbane announced the canceling the proposed industrial action by airport security officers. The strike would have affected the travel plans of thousands of passengers, but thankfully that has been averted. An airport spokesperson said this is excellent news for the traveling public, who will now be able to continue packing for their Christmas holidays.
