JetBlue Airways Corporation reported its preliminary traffic results for February 2012. Traffic in February increased 17.4% from February 2011, on a capacity increase of 15.5%. Load factor for February 2012 was 81.4%, an increase of 1.3 percentage points from February 2011. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 99.8% and its on-time performance was 84.3. JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for the month of February increased 6% year on year. For the month of March, PRASM is expected to increase between 6.5 and 7.5% on last year. These are a very good set of figures in this market and show that the US airlines are well set for good profits should oil increases slow or reverse during 2012.
