Wizz Air carried 456,487 passengers in November 2020 – a decline of 84.7% compared to the year-ago period. Capacity in November dropped by 79.1% to 669, 139 seats. The load factor dropped by 24.5 percentage points compared to November last year to 68.2%.
On a rolling 12 month basis, Wizz Air passenger traffic has declined by 50.6% for the 12 months to the end of November 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. Capacity for the 12 month period fell by 40.6% to 24,820,669 seats. The 12 month load factor dropped by 15.7 percentage points compared to November last year to 77.9%.
In November 2020, Wizz Air announced three new domestic routes in Norway, bringing the total number of domestic routes in the country to 15.
Wizz Air also disclosed that it continuously operates at the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km amongst all competitor airlines, with 65 grams per passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 30 November 2020. For the month of November, emissions in grams per passenger/km were 21% higher than last year due to the drop in load factor, while total CO2 emissions in tonnes decreased at a slightly higher rate than capacity.
