JetBlue appoints two new independent directors
JetBlue has entered into an agreement with major shareholder Ichan Enterprises, with two members set to join the low-cost airline’s board. General counsel of Ichan Enterprises Jesse Lynn and portfolio manager of Ichan Capital Steven Miller will both serve as non-voting observers to the board until JetBlue’s annual stockholder meeting this coming Spring, after which they will join the board as full voting members. “With their experience on public company boards, often when navigating key inflection points, [Lynn and Miller] will add useful insights as we set JetBlue on a path back to long-term sustainable growth and shareholder value creation,” commented chair of JetBlue board Peter Boneparth. CEO Joanna Geraghty added that JetBlue “welcome the contribution of our new board members” as the airline focuses on delivering value to all shareholders and stakeholders. The appointment of the two new directors will take JetBlue’s board to 13 directors, 12 of whom are expected to be independent.
