Jet2 to commence operations from London Luton

Jet2 is set to expand its operations further by adding London Luton Airport to its growing network of UK bases.

The London airport will become the low-cost carrier’s 13th base in the UK and will serve 17 destinations within the airline’s European network.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays noted his excitement for the opening of the airline’s new base, commenting: “Customers and independent travel agents have been asking us to open at London Luton Airport for many years now, so we know how enormously popular this announcement will be.”

He added: “This latest expansion reflects our strategy to be the UK’s leading and best leisure travel business and it underlines the confidence we have in our leisure travel product offering. Today is also a major boost for the local economy as our significant investment includes the creation of over 125 jobs initially.”

The airline will base two new A321neo aircraft at London Luton during the summer period of next year, with operations commencing on April 1, 2025.
