Japan Airlines (JAL) has taken delivery of its first A350-1000 from Airbus’ delivery centre in Toulouse, France, set to initially serve the international Tokyo Haneda to New York JFK route.
JAL has ordered 31 A350 aircraft so far (comprising 13 A350-1000s and 18 A350-900s), the latter of which has been operating in high-density Japanese domestic routes since 2019. JAL describes the cabin of the new A350-1000, which is configured in four classes, as having been ‘designed to make passengers immerse in the elegance of Japanese aesthetics and tranquillity’.
By the end of November 2030, the A350 family had won 1,070 firm orders from 57 customers worldwide.
