Court of La Coruna rules in favour of Ryanair baggage policy

The court of La Coruna, Spain, has ruled in favour of Ryanair's baggage policy that allows for one piece of cabin baggage free of charge. The airline allows customers to purchase add-ons to increase their baggage allowance.

The ruling confirms that airlines such as Ryanair determining their own cabin baggage policy is compliant with EU law. This is the latest in a series of court rulings in Europe allowing for Ryanair's carry-on baggage policy.

Ryanair country manager Elena Cabrera said the ruling confirms that airlines have the right to determine its own cabin baggage policy. She added that it a key component of EU legislation as it allows for the safety of passengers.
