JAMAICAN CAA DECLINES LICENCE FOR CARIBBEAN CARRIER

The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority has declined an application from Air Turks and Caicos for a licence to service several Caribbean routes, including Jamaica.

Jamaica Air Shuttle, which trades as Airways International Limited, objected to the application on the basis that it had the capacity and potential to provide the services on the routes that Air Turks wanted to operate and there was no need for a foreign company to provide that service.
