Bankrupt Japan Airlines has announced it is cutting 170 more jobs in January under its restructuring plan that will cut its operations by a third by March. The airline must cut a further 1,500 jobs to meet its goal of 16,000 job cuts.
JAL is cutting 49 routes and 103 aircraft even though its operating profit was ¥13 billion in November due to increased travel demand in the region.
