Aeroflot is planning to increase the frequency of flights between Moscow and two island nations in the Indian Ocean namely Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The airline will increase its Male capacity from current four per week to seven per week, effective October 1, 2023. With this, Aeroflot will have a total of ten flights per week to Maldives.
Apart from Maldives, Aeroflot will also increase its capacity to Colombo, Sri Lanka. From September 9, the airline will operate thrice weekly flights, with the additional service taking off on Saturdays from Moscow and on Sundays from Colombo.
With the extra service Aeroflot's flights to Colombo from Moscow will be operated on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with return leg scheduled to Moscow on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.
