JAL Group (JAL) has reported an 8.6% increase in international passengers travelling during the annual Japanese "Golden Week" vacation from April 28 to May 6, 2015.
There was a 6.7% increase in domestic travel within the country compared to the same period last year. JAL’s capacity rose 0.3% on international routes and 3.1% less on domestic routes. JAL carried a total of 229,419 passengers on its international flights and 869,769 passengers on domestic flights.
The seat load factor for JAL international flights overall was an improved 85% helped by significantly restoring travel demand on Southeast Asia routes and growing demands on China and Korea routes.
The average total domestic seat load factor was 73.5%.
