Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) has placed a firm order with Airbus for 50 A320neo family aircraft. It marks the first direct order placed by the aircraft lessor with Airbus. The order follows its direct order with Boeing in 2018 for 30 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Kevin McDonald, JSA’s chief executive officer, said: “We are excited to add the A320neo to our long-term pipeline as we continue our mission to provide the world’s airlines with superior fleet and capital solutions.
JSA is part of the Mitsubishi HC Capital Group, a global leasing company based in Japan and publicly listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Mitsubishi HC Capital Group said: “By having this order, JSA group will accelerate the business model of acquiring and trading high quality aircraft, expand the business with global customers, and aim for a sustainable growth of the business.”
The group said deliveries will commence from 2031.
As of December 31, 2024, JSA had a total fleet of 286 aircraft, which mainly consists of narrowbody aircraft, with a value of $13bn and an average fleet age of five years.
