ITA Airways is broadening codeshare operations with airlines within the Lufthansa Group to new destinations in Africa and Asia.
Passengers flying with ITA Airways can now reach several African destinations - including Abidjan, Douala, Freetown, Monrovia, Nairobi, and Ouagadougou - via Brussels Airport, with ITA’s AZ code placed on flights operated by Brussels Airlines.
At the same time, customers of Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines will gain access to long-haul destinations such as Bangkok, Jeddah, Cairo, Riyadh, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo through ITA’s Rome Fiumicino hub, all available on a single ticket under the Lufthansa Group’s airline codes.
The expanded agreement also includes reciprocal codesharing on key Asian routes. Lufthansa will add its LH code to ITA-operated services from Rome to Delhi, while the AZ code will be placed on Lufthansa Group-operated flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Delhi, Mumbai, and Seoul.
In addition, Lufthansa passengers will now have access to ITA’s routes from Rome to Accra, Dakar, and Delhi.
