El Al Airlines is preparing to halt flights to Cairo due to low demand, and high security and operating costs. The news was conveyed to Israel's foreign minister in an open letter published in the Maariv daily from El Al Airlines CEO Eliezer Shkedi.
El Al did not confirm when it would halt flights and the move would be mostly symbolic as the airline has only provided flights sporadically since the Arab Spring.
