Irish transport minister considers Aer Lingus-IAG sale draft report

The Irish Independent has reported that Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe is considering a draft version of a report compiled on the potential sale of the government’s stake in Aer Lingus to IAG. Donohoe will then make a final recommendation on whether or not to go ahead with the sale.

Aer Lingus chief executive Stephen Kavanagh has stated that the Government decision is "close" and he expects it to be in favour of selling to IAG.

Kavanagh described IAG’s €1.4bn offer as the “ultimate compliment” for the business and that he was not frustrated by the delay in the government’s decision.
