Air France-KLM improved Q3 results

Air France-KLM has reported a 10.8% increase in third quarter 2015 revenue to €7.4bn compared to €6.7bn posted in Q3 2014. Corrected for the impact of the pilot strike on revenue in 2015, the revenues increased by 4.2% due to the strong currency tailwind. Total revenues were down -2.4% on a straight comparison basis, however. In the third quarter 2015, the negative currency impact on costs reached €471m.

Total operating costs rose 1.1% and were down 7.0% on a like-for-like basis. Excluding fuel, cost rose by 2.7% and by 0.5% on a like-for-like basis. EBITDAR amounted to €1,605m, a reported increase of €707m. Like-for-like, EBITDAR increased by €314m, driven by a good summer peak trading.
