Ireland's main airport warns of flight cancellations as temperatures drop

Dublin Airport said it was "fully operational" on the morning of December 12 but warned more flights could be delayed due to "weather disruption" at destination airports in the UK.

There were concerns that the Irish capital's hub could face further weather-related troubles, however, with the country's meteorological service warning of -10 degrees celsius temperatures and freezing fog.

Monday flight schedules at the airport suggested 22 flights in and out had been halted or delayed, mainly due to runways being closed at Stansted and Gatwick airports in London.

Irish airline Ryanair took issue with the airport saying it was fully operational, warning of "long security queues" due to 4 of the airport's 15 security lanes being closed.

Passengers were earlier in the year subjected to several bouts of severe delays and overcrowding at the airport due to long lines at security screening points.
