Investec Bank's aviation finance team has financed its first transaction with ReGEN, a unit of aircraft lessor Genisis.
The facility enabled ReGEN's acquisition of its first on-lease aircraft, an IAE powered Airbus A319-100 aircraft on lease to British Airways.
“We’re delighted to work with ReGEN and help finance their first aircraft, leased to British Airways,” said Joseph Barnwell of Investec aviation finance.
Barnwell added: “Given our in-house technical capabilities and the short loan tenor, we were able to have strong visibility of expected EOL compensation, and as such were comfortable lending at above 100% LTV on day one.”
Lessor Genesis established ReGEN in 2023 to support the developing global aerospace supply chain challenges and to enhance the lessor's full life cycle strategy.
"We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of the team at Investec who have supported us throughout the course of this transaction,” said John Kelly, senior vice president at Genesis. “They understood the unique value the ReGEN platform can extract from aviation assets. We look forward to expanding our relationship with them in the near future.”
ReGEN, provides airframe and engine component solutions to airline and MRO markets.
