Emirates to purchase two A380 aircraft in deal with Investec

Investec has agreed the forward sale of two A380 aircraft to Emirates, with the transaction supporting the Dubai-based carriers ongoing strategy to maintain a modern fleet.

The airline, which serves over 140 destinations across six continents, is focusing on securing long-term capacity to support its future growth.

“We are pleased to have agreed the sale of these two A380s with Emirates, a longstanding client of the bank,” said Clayton Woollgar, head of structured finance at Investec Aviation. “This transaction demonstrates our ability to deliver favourable structures for investment partners while supporting the strategic objectives of our airline customers.”.

The A380 continues to play a key role in Emirates’ network, with the airline operating over 100 of the aircraft type.

Investec Aviation Finance has originated more than $10bn in aviation debt and deployed $1.3bn in capital over the past decade.
