Split Rock Aviation, a new aviation advisory firm, has been formed by two industry veterans of the aviation finance and leasing community, John Feren and Andy Mansell.
Both Aviation Capital Group alumni, the pair decided to embark on this new venture to offer “new and unique product offerings and solutions for the aviation industry”. Both say they share a passion for understanding the customer and bringing creative solutions to address challenges.
“There is a lot of opportunity to bring different segments of our industry together and create value for our customers,” said Andy Mansell, co-founder of Split Rock Aviation. “Our extensive experience and longstanding relationships give us unique insight and access to the market that others do not have. We look forward to growing this capability further as we add to the team in the New Year.”
Mansell started his career in banking and has thirty years of experience in the aircraft leasing industry, most of which was spent at Aviation Capital Group where he was a member of the senior leadership team and held several senior positions, including head of marketing, head of trading, executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
Feren spent 30 years with Boeing in many roles, including market forecasting - economist, sales director, finance director on MD-80, airplane program management, vice president of Americas Sales, vice president marketing 7e7 (787) and VP sales for global leasing.
He then spent 10 years with Aviation Capital Group, where he was senior vice president of business development and a member of the senior leadership team.
In 2018, Feren joined L3 technologies and until its merger with Harris Corporation, supported commercial business development, calling on airlines and suppliers.
